GLOSSARY

Chase: to follow rapidly or intently in order to overtake, etc.
Kick: to strike with the foot or feet.
Helpful: giving aid or assistance.
Shy: bashful.
Advice: an opinion or recommendation offered as a guide to action.
Advise: to give counsel or advice.

Habitat: the natural environment of a living thing.
Pain: physical suffering.
Predator: any organism that exists by preying on another.
Prey: any animal hunted for food.
Wildlife: animals living in the wild.
Flood: a great lowing or overflowing of water.

Mainland: the principal land of a region.
Route: a course, way or road for travel.
Tide: the regularly occurring rise and fall of the waters of the ocean.
Branches: an armlike division of the stem of a tree.
Earth: the planet in which human begins life.
Leaves: one of the parts at the end of a stem on a plant.
Native: being the place or environment in which a person was born.
Roots: a part of the body of a plant that develops downward into the soil.
Argue: to present or state reason.
